I've always said you have three auditions:
- The one you rehearse in the hall
- The one you tape in the room
- The one you have in the car on the way home.
Try to make #2 the better of the bunch.
Also, fire-and-forget. Particularly for commercials, it's 80% the way you look. So go in, do your best and then forget it. It's not personal.
It helps to give them a reason to call you back, but the most important thing is to NOT give them a reason to NOT call you back.
Thus ends my sanctimonious sermon for today.
