Aloha

1) I went to ballet on Saturday. It was a spur-of-the-moment decision at about 1:30, 2:00. I looked at the Broadway Dance Center website to see what classes were when, and noticed that there was a 4:30 beginning ballet class. Like that, I decided to go. And so at 3:45, I moseyed on down to BDC (really, it was more like a hustle, but not because I was late, but because the Times Square Area raises my blood pressure and I needed to get away from slow-moving tourists as quickly as possible) and went to class.

I cut the side of my ankle moving the heavy metal barre and bled all over my ballet slipper, not noticing until well into class, when I looked down and thought, "Oh, wow, look at that," and went right back to tendu (warning: quicktime movie). It seemed to have stopped, so why fuss?

Anyway, ballet was fantastic. I was very shaky on the tendonitis/multiple sprains leg (the left), and, as usual, could never remember the right way to turn when doing pirouettes at the barre, but muscle memory prevailed and I didn't fully embarrass myself. I was just proud of myself for getting there, and relieved to be back in the one place where I feel completely at home: in class.

2) Oh dear. Forgot the second thing. Oh well.
