Really, It's the Holidays

Nothing much happens in the on camera world during the holidays. And things in theatre just go on as they had before Thanksgiving and Christmas and Hannukah, especially when they're going on without you. I'm still doing my school shows, still taking dance classes at Zenon, still a little bit bored. (You know, L.A. looks nice this time of year.)

I hurt my back sometime last week (though not in dance classes), and it doesn't seem to have gotten any better. I hope I didn't do something serious that would require health insurance to cover the staggering costs, seeing as I don't have health insurance.

Gotta pee now.

Missing Pieces

I seem to have somehow committed a very grave error. I've lost two screws that go on the leg brace I wear in the One Woman Show. They are, apparently, irreplaceable. Which is really too bad because I think they're gone; floated off into the ether. I checked the bag I carry the brace in and they were not there. I'm not entirely sure what happened to them, but they are most definitely gone. My director's advice was to call the school I performed at before I noticed them gone, but I don't think that's going to help. Most custodians won't pay any attention to some anonymous screws they find in their daily sweepings. They'll toss them out with the trash.

So...I don't know what's going to happen. Trying not to be flippant, but what can you do when everyone else around you is flipping out?

Um...

I had an overnight shoot last night for Target. It was a blast, except for the 10:30pm to 6:00am part. That sucked. But I knew four of the other 9 talent already so we had a good time being loopy and cracking silly jokes and messing with the craft services* table.

We didn't get to Eric and I's scene until about 4:30am, so at that point I wanted to sleep very badly, but stayed awake by jumping around and acting stupid. Ah, shooting overnight in the store. Always fun.

Anyway, I'm supposed to be writing my Nano Novel but seem to have stalled out for the moment, so I'm taking a break. It's most definitely Week Two, and I'm way behind. So I'm taking a break. Makes sense, right?

*Craft Services: the lovely folks who leave out plates of food on which to nosh and generally stuff oneself. It's a nice thought for them to put out apples and bananas, but it's the cookies and candy that always go first. Thanks, Craft Services!

Comp Card Woes

So. Went to pick up my comp card photo CDs again. Wanted to give them a second chance as my agent said they worked. I believed him, and wanted to try again.

Took them to Kinkos first, and whaddaya know? They work. So I tried to email the entire folder of pictures to myself, but the webmail programs I tried to use won't allow it. Unbelieveably frustrating. Couldn't copy the photos to the desktop of the computer I was working on, because the CD was read-only. Tried to email them three at a time, but they were too large and it took forever.

So now I don't know what to do. I could try to find a friend with a PC and internet access and see if I could use their mail program to email the folder to myself, but I can't think of any friends with a PC and internet access, my friends being mostly actors who are too poor for both. I don't understand why the CD won't read on my computer, but I think it has something to do with the Mac OS. The CD icon doesn't even appear on the desktop. It's invisible to the computer.

Gr. Guess I'll be sitting in Kinkos looking at photos of myself. How annoying.
